14 April 2010 Build Progress Update:
***Edit: We now have a confirmed date for the skatepark completion
that can be made public. The contractor will be finishing up on
site and will remove the fences so that the park can open to the
public from Saturday 24th April. There is also an Edinburgh Council
official opening day event planned for Saturday 8th May so get
along to that and show your support too. Its been a long time
coming but only 9 more days to wait and counting! Check back next
week for the final build photo update which will show the completed
park in all its glory...***
Its been a few weeks since the last build update and Saughton
Skatepark is very close to being finished. The clover bowl has
been sprayed and the final features are being added to the street
course. The rails will go in next week and then we should be able
to give you a date on when the park will be complete and ready
to ride. Roll on the opening day!...

The Skatepark Layout:

The final layout for the Saughton Park
site was developed by the skaters and riders in the ESP group
in conjunction with architects Urban Design Futures and Dave Sowerby
acting to produce the layout plans. The skatepark layout covers
approximately 2100 square meters and features a mix of bowl and
street features to cater for all skill levels.
